After four days of racing in Phoenix, AZ , a new Indoor Kart World Champion (IKWC) was crowned. The new champion, racing for NOVA Topkart of Brazil, is Rodrigo Faulhaber.
Rodrigo had an exceptional race week, winning three (3) races ranging in length from from 30 minutes to 1 1/2 hours. Rodrigo earned 117.0 points and distance himself from second place by only 3.5 points.
Second place went to the 2005 Champion, Werner Truegler racing out of Austria for Pluscity.at/kartsport.at, earning 113.5 points during 4 days of racing. Werner has participated in this event three straight years, winning in 2005, finishing 11th in 2006 and 2nd in this years event.
Third place was awarded to the winner of the 1 1/2 final race, Mathias Grooten from Belgium, racing for Talent Promotion Belgium. This was the first year of racing in the IKWC, and Mathias proved his driving skill by earning 112.5 points while winning three (3) races during this years event.
As the IKWC has been held at the F1RaceFactory located in Phoenix, AZ for three years running, it appears next years race will be held at new venue. Discussion have revolved around a location in Europe or Brazil. While a final decision has yet to be reached, whatever location is chosen, we look forward to next years event. Congratulation to all racers (pilots) who particiapted in the 2007 IKWC !
